The Bible

The Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, inerrant as originally given, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and practice. (2)

The One True God

There is one true God, who is infinitely perfect, and has revealed himself as existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (3)

Accordingly, therefore, there is that in the Father which constitutes Him the Father and not the Son; there is that in the Son which constitutes Him the Son and not the Father; and there is that in the Holy Spirit which constitutes Him the Holy Spirit and not either the Father or the Son. Wherefore, the Father is the Begetter; the Son is the Begotten; and the Holy Spirit is the One proceeding from the Father and the Son. Therefore, because these three persons in the godhead are in a state of unity, there is but one Lord God Almighty and His name one. (4)

The Person and Work of the Lord Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the true God and the true man. Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. (5)

The Scriptures declare: His virgin birth, (6) His sinless life, (7) His miracles, (8) and His substitution work on the cross. He died upon the cross, the Just for the unjust. All who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood, (9) His bodily resurrection from the dead, (10) and His exaltation to the right hand of God. He is now at the right hand of the Majesty on high as our great High Priest. (11)

The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is a Divine person, eternal in nature, existing as Spirit, Who was before the beginning, God. Being intimately involved in the creation, enablement, regeneration and empowerment of mankind, as well as the confirmation of the ministry of Jesus Christ. His work is made evident through “signs and wonders” that are meant to display the presence and power of God. (12) He was sent to indwell, guide, teach, empower the believer, and convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. (13)

All believers should earnestly desire the continuing work of the Holy Spirit in their lives; being “filled with the Spirit”. With the continued “filling” comes the power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry, as the Lord wills. (14) This continuing work is the ongoing experience following the new birth. It is evidenced by an overflowing fullness of the Spirit, a deepened reverence for God, an intensified consecration to God and dedication to His work, and an active love for Christ, for His Word, and for the lost. (15)

The Fall, Salvation and Sanctification of Man

Fall: Man was created good, in the image and likeness of God. Man, through voluntary disobedience, fell incurring both physical and spiritual death, which is separation from God. (16) All men are born with a sinful nature, and are separated from the life of God. The unrepentant and unbelieving will exist forever in conscious torment, separated from God. (17)

Salvation: God’s purpose concerning man is to seek and to save that which is lost. Man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God and His atoning work accomplished on the cross. Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all men; those who repent and believe in Him are born again of the Holy Spirit. By regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, being justified by grace through faith, men receive the gift of eternal life, and become the children of God. (18) Inward evidence of salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit. (19) Outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness. (20)

Sanctification: It is the will of God that each believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit and be sanctified wholly. Scriptures teach a life of holiness that by the power of the Holy Spirit we are able to enjoy a life of obedience. (21) Sanctification is an act of separation from sin and the patterns of the world and full dedication to the will of God. Upon regeneration the position of the believer is sanctified, “set apart” to God. (22) Subsequent to regeneration is the progressive experience in the life of the believer to be “set apart” from sin. (23)

The Church: Mission, Ministry and Ordinances

The Church is the Body of Christ and Jesus Christ is the Head of the Body. All who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood, are born again of the Holy Spirit and are made part of His Body. (24)

Mission and Ministry: The Body of Christ (the Church) is joined together to; worship God (25), proclaim the gospel, (26) edify up Christ’s followers through the Word of God, prayer and fellowship, (27) and demonstrate God’s love and compassion for all the world. (28) The ministry of the church is overseen through divinely called and scripturally ordained ministries for leading and serving the Lord’s Church. (29)

Water Baptism: All who repent and believe on Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized in water. This act is a declaration to the world that they have died with Christ and have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. (30)

Communion: All believers in Jesus Christ celebrate the Lord’s Supper as He commanded. This celebration is the symbol expressing our ongoing desire to share in the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ, a memorial of His suffering and death, and a prophecy of His second coming. (31)

Last Things

Return: The return of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent and will be personal, visible and known to all. This is the believer’s blessed hope and is a vital truth which is an incentive to holy living and faithful service. (32)

Resurrection: There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust; for the former, a resurrection unto life; for the latter, a resurrection unto judgment. (33) The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation will be together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord. (34)

Judgment: There will be a final judgment in which the unregenerate will be raised and judged according to their works. Whoever is not found written in the Book of Life, together with the devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, will be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. (35)

Consummation: We, according to His promise, look forward to a new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. (36)
